In Bashkortostan, three former police officers found guilty of raping their colleague

The evidence gathered by the Bashkortostan Republican Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia has been found by the court to be sufficient to sentence the former Head of the Ufimsky District Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the former Head of the Karmaskalinsky District Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, and the former Head of the Migration Department of the Ufimsky District Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. They have been found guilty of committing offenses under Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 131 (rape committed by a group of persons), and Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 132 (sexual abuse committed by a group of persons) of the Criminal Code of Russia.

The investigation and the court established that, on the evening of October 29, 2019, a 23-year-old investigator of the Ufimsky District Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia had been attacked by three of her colleagues. Later, the young woman reported it to the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Investigators and forensic specialists of the Republican Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia carried out a large amount of work in order to detect and register traces of the committed offense: they conducted searches in the places of residence and work of the perpetrators, seized video records from video surveillance cameras on the way of the convicts before and after committing the offense, refuted by investigative methods the alibis of the convicts, and performed a number of complex expert examinations, including those in expert institutions of another region.

All accomplices of the offense refused to admit their guilt during the investigation and trial.

The court has sentenced former policemen to 6-7 years of imprisonment in a general regime penal colony. The court has also ruled to recover compensation of 3 million rubles in favor of the victim.
