Alexander Bastrykin holds reception for representatives of volunteer organizations

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin has held a working meeting with representatives of volunteer organizations and squads.

The meeting was attended by Head of the Educational Outreach Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia Sergey Petrov, Head of the Main Forensics Directorate (Forensics Center) of the Investigative Committee of Russia Sigmund Lojis, Head of the Directorate on Procedure Control over Certain Crimes Investigation Yevgenia Minaeva, Chairman of the Presidium of the National Association of Investigation Veterans “Union of Investigation Veterans” Vladimir Dontsov, investigation veterans, and students of the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

President of the Charity Fund “Volunteers for Orphaned Children” Yelena Alshanskaya; Chairman of the search-and-rescue group Lisa Alert Grigory Sergeev; Chairman of the Public Organization “Youth Urgent Care” Anton Androsov, President of Search for Missing Children Fund Dmitry Vtorov, as well as volunteers of the Yaroslavl Public Organization for help in search for missing children “YarSpas”, the Union of Russian Volunteers “Decriminalization of Youth Environment”, representatives of the Interregional Public Organization for family, motherhood and childhood support “Doctor for Children” and the Coordination Council for the Development of Children’s Tourism at the Government of the Russian Federation were other guests of the event.

“Your civil activity proves the best human traits. You reach out to help those who need help. Your involvement in small things makes big things great,” Alexander Bastrykin said addressing the volunteers. He added that each time volunteers arrived in search activities, they committed a feat, and due to this in most cases, the missing people were found alive.

Participants of the event watched a video on the cooperation of the Investigative Committee with volunteers based on real stories of the successful search for missing people including children.

Apart from that, Alexander Bastrykin reminded that the Investigative Committee of Russia was carrying out the All-Russian Patriotic Youth Good Deeds Relay dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Alexander Bastrykin awarded volunteer representatives commemorative medals of the Investigative Committee of Russia “75th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945”.

In her turn, President of the Charity Fund “Volunteers for Orphaned Children” Yelena Alshanskaya thanked the Investigative Committee of Russia for support. “The biggest problem is that sometimes people don’t hear a child affected by violence and don’t believe them. However, the Investigative Committee of Russia immediately responds to all such signals and takes measures,” she noted.

President of the Search for Missing Children Fund Dmitry Vtorov also underlined the efficiency of interaction with the Investigative Committee of Russia. “We always know that you will respond to our requests. Each signal about the search for a missing person receives a response, technical capacities are engaged and there is no red-tape in the interaction with your agency,” Dmitry Vtorov noted and awarded a sign of gratitude from the Fund to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Chairman of the Public Organization “Youth Urgent Care” Anton Androsov shared with the audience his experience of preventing young people from engaging in destructive organizations, including those of extremist nature. According to him, the youth is very vulnerable to such influences and it is necessary to pay attention to the moral upbringing of the young generation.

In conclusion of the event, Alexander Bastrykin congratulated the audience on the upcoming holidays and noted that the joint work with volunteer organizations would be continued in the next year.
