The Main Investigations Directorate over North Caucasus Federal District of the Investigative Committee of Russia pressed charges against former Prosecutor of Zaterechny District of Vladikavkaz of North Ossetia-Alania Republic Olga Shvetsova for committing of an offence under Part 4 of Article 33, Paragraph G of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder). The operational support of the probe is provided by North Ossetia-Alania Republican Directorate of the Federal Security Service.
According to investigation, in 2012 Shvetsova, during personal meeting with leader of a criminal community Aslan Gagiev in Moscow, ordered a murder of former husband of her sister - Alexander Leonov, due to animosity. Consequently, Alexander Leonov, being an investigator of Northern Transport Investigations Department of the Moscow Interregional Transport Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia, was killed by members of this criminal organization near his house.
At a request of the investigation, the suspect was subjected to a preventive detention.
As it was reported earlier, the criminal organization created and led by Aslan Gagiev, born in Georgia, started its illegal activities no later than in 2004 and consisted of over 50 participants. In Moscow, Moscow Region, and the Republic of North Ossetia - Alania, participants of the community murdered 60 persons, including law enforcement officers, republican and municipal authorities, businessmen and other persons. Up to date, 24 members of the illegal organization have been sentenced to long-term imprisonment, including life sentences. The probe into 12 participants is reviewed by court, 7 are on the international wanted list and 7 were killed upon Gagiev's instruction during internal conflicts of 2010-2014.
Aslan Gagiev was extradited to the Russian Federation from the Austrian Republic in 2018 and taken into custody. At present he is studying case materials.
The Main Investigations Directorate over North Caucasus Federal District of the Investigative Committee of Russia continues carrying out required investigative actions aimed to establish all circumstances of the committed offences and bring to justice all the responsible persons.
