Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Head of Krasnoyarsk Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia to personally handle the situation of Krasnoyarsk pensioners

Today the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia found out from mass media sources that two labor veterans tried to commit self-immolation on the doorstep of one of Krasnoyarsk administrative institutions. According to open sources, this act was motivated by refusal to provide them with housing under a federal program.

According to preliminary data, the senior married couple migrated from Norilsk to Krasnoyarsk under a relocation program North - South in 2008. However, up to the present moment they haven't received a subsidy for purchase of housing provided for by the program.

Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Head of Krasnoyarsk and Khakassia Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia to proceed to the scene, talk to the pensioners in person, listen to all their arguments and help to properly file and accept complaints and organize a pre-investigative probe. In case any signs of criminality are detected, the Head of the Committee ordered to immediately launch a criminal inquiry and take all possible measures to ensure housing rights of the pensioners.
