The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin met with the Secretary of State of the Union State of Russia and Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev.
Dmitry Mezentsev was appointed to the post of Secretary of State of the Union State on March 19. Before that he was holding the position of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in Belarus.
During the meeting the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia noted that the strong foundation for good neighbourly relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus was created largely owing to the personal contribution of Dmitry Mezentsev.
Alexander Bastrykin and Dmitry Mezentsev expressed confidence in future development of Russian-Belarusian cooperation in the field of protection of rights and legal interests of citizens and law enforcement both in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
In conclusion of the meeting Alexander Bastrykin awarded Dmitry Mezentsev the commemorative medal "10th Anniversary of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation" and the commemorative medal "75th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War".
