During investigation into a probe under Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rendering of services which do not meet safety standards entailing by negligence severe health damage and death of a person) the investigators of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia detained two suspects. They are a master and a locksmith of a gas company. According to preliminary data, on April 19, 2021 they were connecting one of the apartments of the collapsed building in Margushi village of Dalnekonstantinovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod region to the gas service. Investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia are currently questioning the suspects to establish all circumstances of the tragedy.

As reported earlier, a structural collapse of a three-storey residential building occured in the evening of the April 19, 2021 in Margusha village of Dalnekonstantinovsky District of Nizhny Novgorod Region. A a result, ceiling of the second and the third floor partially collapsed. Detailed examination of the scene of the accident revealed a death of a three-month-old child. Two other minor children and three adult residents of the building were injured. All injured persons have been hospitalized. Investigation will also give legal assessment to actions of the previously detained workers.
