The Main Investigations Directorate over North Caucasian Federal District of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is investigating a probe into entrepreneur Yury Arefyev. He was previously accused of committing an offense under Part 3 of Article 33, Paragraphs C, G, H of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (organization of preparations for a murder attended by kidnapping, committed by hire by a group of persons under preliminary conspiracy).
Apart from that the preliminary investigation bodies revealed additional episodes of Arefyev's criminal activities, and gave additional qualification to his actions. Final charges pressed against the perpetrator included committing of offences under Part 3 of Article 33, Paragraphs C, G, H of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (organization of preparations for a murder attended by kidnapping, committed by hire by a group of persons under preliminary conspiracy), Part 3 of Article 33, Paragraphs A, H of Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Russia (organization of preparations for kidnapping) and Part 3 of Article 33, Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 163 of the Criminal Code of Russia (organization of preparations for extortion).

Investigation established that entrepreneur Yury Arefyev living in Kislovodsk city of Stavropol Region beared personal grudge against family members of his acquaintance Vladimir Malkhozov. It is known that Malkhozov owed Arefyev a large sum of money, however in September 2014 he died without paying back the debt. Arefyev led by mercenary motives decided to kidnap a son of Vladimir Malkhozov, Arkady Malkhozov, in order to use physical impact to force him to repay the debt and then to murder him.
As an organized, Arefyev found performers for this offence. However the so called perpetrators contacted the police to tell about the prepared crime. As part of operative and search activities they subsequently staged kidnapping, extortion and murder of Arkady Malkhozov. After that Yury Arefyev, confident in the fact of committing of the offense, paid the "accomplices" a remuneration of 1 million rubles.
By now investigation has conducted all investigative actions required to collect evidential base for the probe.
Arefyev's involvement in the alleged offences is fully proven by the complex of evidence on the probe. In the nearest future the accused will start studying the case files.
