In Moscow Region, a blogger sentenced for intentional infliction of severe bodily harm entailing death of a young woman


Evidence collected by the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia was found by court to be sufficient to sentenced 30-year-old blogger Stanislav Reshetnyak. He was found guilty of intentional infliction of severe bodily harm entailing death of a young woman (Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

 

Investigation and the court established that on December 2, 2020 Reshetnyak repeatedly hit the victim in his life streams on the Internet watched by numerous viewers. Later the girl stopped showing life signs and an ambulance brigade pronounced her dead.

 

According to forensic examination report the victim died as a result of traumatic brain injury. Media reports about alleged pregnancy of the victim had not been confirmed. Investigation process also included psychological and psychiatric examination, crime scene examination with participation of the accused, onsite examination of testimonies, face-to-face confrontation and other investigative actions. The collected evidence and examination reports provided a basis for indictment.

 

The court found Reshetnyak guilty and sentenced him to 6 years of imprisonment in a strict regime penal colony. The sentence didn't come into force.
