Alexander Bastrykin instructs to refer a probe into attack on a school in Kazan entailing death of people to the Central Office

The Tatarstan Republican Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe under Part 2 of Article 105 upon the fact of an attack on general education institution Gymnasium No. 175. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed to transfer all probe materials to the Main Investigative Department of the Central Office of the Committee for further careful and comprehensive investigation.

According to preliminary information, the armed young man broke into the educational institution and started shooting. At present it is known about several victims killed by his offense and about injured persons being provided with medical aid.

The attacker has been detained and identified as a local resident born in 2001.

Apart from that, upon request of the head of Investigative Committee of Russia forensic specialists of the Main Forensics Department (Forensic Centre) of the Committee have been sent to the site. The Main Forensics Department (Forensic Centre) will use relevant equipment to assist investigators in search and collection of all traces of the committed offense.

Alexander Bastrykin ordered to give comprehensive legal assessment to all circumstances of the tragedy.
