Alexander Bastrykin congratulates patients of War veterans hospital No.2 on the past holidays

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin visited the War veterans hospital No. 2 to take part in celebratory events dedicated to the past Day of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Committee provides help to all inmates of the medical facility under Agreement on cooperation signed by the Committee and the hospital.

The celebratory meeting was attended by the head of Educational Outreach Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia Sergey Petrov, Chief Medical Officer of War veterans hospital No, 2 of the Moscow Healthcare Department, Great Patriotic War veterans, representatives of the Moscow Academy of the Investigative Committee of Russia and student of Alexander Nevsky Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Alexander Bastrykin placed flowers to the memorial of medical workers fallen for the Motherland to pay tribute to them. Speaking of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the head of the Committee specially underlined the tragic nature of these events and their devastating consequences. "Seventy six years - it's a big period, but the years separating us from the victorious May 9, 1945 cannot erase from our memory the gratitude for the immortal feat of the Soviet people that blocked the fascist hordes and defeated the Hitler's Germany. Everything the veterans had to go through would've been enough for several lives, and our duty is to surround our fathers and grandfathers with attention, support and all possible help", the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia said. "Veterans of all wars need protection and support, because they've come a heroic way and many of them have lost their health. Our event is one of the ways to pay tribute to those who defeated our Homeland", the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia added.

In honor of the veterans the servicemen of the Russian Army and cadets of the Alexander Nevsky Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia marched in a parade formation in front of the hospital. After that there was a festive concert. The patients of the hospital were very touched by such attention from the Investigative Committee officers and the ceremonial parade made them feel proud for the USSR contribution to the defeat of German fascist invaders.

The Great Patriotic War participant Fedor Fedorovich Barilov, who had fought at Zabaikalsky front and had taken part in Hingano-Mukden offensive operation against Japanese troops in 1945, delivered welcoming remarks. He took part in the famous transition through the Great Hingan across the waterless Gobi Desert. He was awarded Order of the Great Patriotic War, II degree, and medals "For the Victory over Japan", "For Battle Merit", "For Excellent Public Order Service" and "For Irreproachable Service".

Vera Shastina thanked the guests for the organized events and noted that such activities help a lot to keep up the moral of the inmates of the hospital.

After the ceremonial part the head pf the Investigative Committee of Russia had a conversation with the hospital patients. Alexander Bastrykin asked about well-being of each veteran and assured that the Committee is ready to help and support them in any situation. He also thanked the doctors for their everyday hard work and care for the patients. The deputy chief medical officer responsible for surgical treatment Semen Gorin and the manager of the reception department, the cardiologist Natalya Boyko were awarded medals of the Investigative Committee of Russia "For contribution".
