Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia gives a number of instructions to regional investigative departments

On May 13, 2021 in Bolshoe Kozino settlement of Balakhninsky district of Nizhny Novgorod Region a 12-year-old girl didn't come home from school. In the evening of the same day the body of the girl was discovered in a settlement forest.  Investigators of the Nizhny Novgorod Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia in cooperation with operative officers of the regional Main Department of the Interior Ministry of Russia detained on hot pursuit a 49-year-old citizen of Nizhny Novgorod Region. Alexander Bastrykin instructed the Central Office of the Committee to supervise the progress of investigation and requested a report on investigative actions that had been carried out.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia also requested a report on investigation of a probe into information about a death of a 16-year-old girl in Kyibashevsky district of Novosibirsk Region, who was suffering from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and needed Risdiplamum medicine. The Novosibirsk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe under Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia (neglect of duty entailing by negligence death of a person). 

Moreover, Alexander Bastrykin requested a report on investigation of a probe into oil spill in Nenets Autonomous Region. On May 11, 2021 around 10 PM it was discovered that the oil pipeline of Osh oilfield of Nenets Autonomous Region was depressurized, which caused spill of oil products. The  Arkhangelsk and Nenets Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe under Article 246 (violation of environmental safety rules during works).

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia also requested a report on pre-investigative probe carried out  by Kamchatka Territorial Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia into mass media report about non-payment of about 200 million rubles of allowances to medical workers for work in pandemic conditions.  

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Central Office of the Committee to supervise the progress of probes.

Alexander Bastrykin requested a report on a probe investigated by Tatarstan Republican Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia upon mass media report about Kazan citizen Natalya Andreeva addressing the Investigative Committee of Russia with a request to check possible connection between suicide of her 17-year-old son in 2020 and tragic episode of shooting in Gymnasium No. 175. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia ordered to check completeness and objectivity of investigative actions that had been carries out and of procedural decision that had been made.
