Alexander Bastrykin instructs to launch a probe into an incident on Nevsky Prospect of St. Petersburg


The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the direction of St. Petersburg Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to launch a probe into an incident on Nevsky Prospect.

Today a number of mass media sources published a video from surveillance cameras that recorded several young persons riding scooters in pedestrian area and knocking down pedestrians. They also hit a man who was subsequently hospitalised. The journalists note that it was possible not the only episode of illegal actions committed by the young persons, who have not yet been detained while law enforcement bodies remain inactive.

Apart from that, one of TV channels criticized process of investigation of a probe related to the mansion of duke Alexey Cherkassky in Universitetskaya embankment in St. Petersburg.

The Head of the Committee instructed the direction of the investigative department to identify young people attacking a pedestrian in the shortest time possible. Alexander Bastrykin also instructed to examine the situation related to Cherkassky mansion and give adequate legal assessment to all arguments pronounced in the story.
