The Main Investigations Directorate over North Caucasian Federal District of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation finished investigation of a probe into Artur Mendokhov born in Kabardino-Balkar Republic accused of committing an offense under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (financing terrorism).

Investigation established that in 2018 Mendokhov, following the ideology and sharing goals of participants of international terrorist organizations Islam State and Jabhat al-Nusra banned in the Russian Federation, transferred money to a phone number connected to a bank account of a member of international terrorist organization.

The investigation gathered enough evidence; therefore, the criminal case against Mendokhov was sent to the court to be tried on the merits.
