Investigative Committee of Russia finished investigation of a probe into a series of socially dangerous acts prohibited by law

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia finished investigation of probe into a man having committed socially dangerous acts prohibited by criminal law under Paragraph A of Part 3, Paragraph B of Part 2 of Article 132 (violent sexual actions), Paragraph E of Part 2 of Article 161 (robbery), Paragraph B of Part 2 of Article 131 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rape).

Investigation established that in August 2016 in Samara the citizen, threatening a 17-year-old girl with murder, committed against her violent sexual actions and robbery. After that, in September 2016 in Vladimir and in October 2016 in St. Petersburg, he threatened with murder to young women of 21 and 25 years of age to commit rape and violent sexual actions against them.

 The series of socially dangerous acts was revealed due to competent investigative work in interaction of investigators and forensic specialists of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Investigation included a required set of investigative actions and a big number of forensic examinations during which the genetic profile of the said man was matched with biological traces collected at the crime scene.

The forensic psychiatric examination established that at the moment of committing of the socially dangerous acts the psychiatric condition of the man deprived him from the ability to be aware of the actual nature, social danger of his actions and to direct them. In this relation the experts came to the conclusion that it was necessary to subject him to compulsory medical measures. The criminal case with the approved relevant resolution has been sent to the court to be tried on the merits.
