Alexander Bastrykin puts under supervision the investigation of a probe into attempted murder of a minor and encroachment on a life of a National Guard officer in Yekaterinburg

The Sverdlovsk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia pressed charges against a 48-year-old Yekaterinburg citizen for committing offences under Part 3, Article 30, Paragraphs A, C, F, I of Part 2 of Article 105 (attempted murder of two or more persons including a minor, committed by generally dangerous method, out of hooliganism) and Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Russia (encroachment on a life of a law enforcement officer).

According to investigation, in the evening of May 30, 2021, the accused, from the balcony of his apartment on Borodina street in Yekaterinburg, fired at least one shot from Vepr hunting carbine at a car on the street with a family of three persons inside, including a minor girl born in 2012. The girl received an abdominal gunshot wound and was urgently delivered to a hospital to be provided with required medical assistance. Moreover, the accused fired at least two shots from the said weapon at a 41-year-old employee on duty of the non-departmental security department of Yekaterinburg who arrived at the scene for protection of public order and ensuring public safety.

Today, upon the motion of the IC investigator, preventive measure for the accused will be decided upon.  

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requested a report on investigative actions that had been carried out.  The progress of investigation is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
