Probes into rehabilitation of Nazism launched against a number of persons

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched probes into residents of several regions and Ukrainian citizens suspected of committing offenses under Article 351.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia (rehabilitation of Nazism).

Among perpetrators are Andrey Akimov from Orenburg Region, Sergey Sakharov from Tomsk Region and Ukrainian citizens Dmitry Alekseenko and Mikhail Puh. According to investigation, the said persons downloaded to Immortal Regiment of Russia website applications containing data about Hitler, Goebbels, traitor to the Motherland Vlasov. Such actions are aimed at approving the crimes of the Nazi regime established by the Nuremberg Tribunal.

A procedural probe is also carried out into resident of Sverdlovsk Region Alexey Ponomarev. During the Immortal Regiment action, he tried to place a photograph of a person not related to the victory of the Soviet people over Nazi Germany, along with the veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

Searches were carried out at residence of a number of persons to seize computer equipment and means of communication.

At present investigators continue to carry out investigative actions and search activities aimed to consolidate evidence and establish all circumstances of the committed offenses.
