The Investigative Committee of Russia participates in the Russia-Kyrgyzstan teleconference bridge

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin took part in the Russia-Kyrgyzstan teleconference dedicated to the memory of the outstanding personality Toktogon Altybasarova, who sheltered 150 children evacuated from besieged Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The event was attended by the Prosecutor General of the Kyrgyz Republic Kurmankul Zulushev, heads of the Central Office departments of the Investigative Committee of Russia, children and grandchildren of Toktogon Altybasarova, her pupil, as well as officers, students and cadets of educational organizations of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Toktogon Altybasarova met the beginning of the war when she was 16 years old. At this time, she was appointed chairman of the Rural Council of the village of Kurmenty, Issyk-Kul region of the Kyrgyz SSR. In August 1942, this heart-whole girl has enough courage to take responsibility for the lives of 150 evacuated children from besieged Leningrad, taking them into her care. Despite her young age, she surrounded the children with maternal care and attention and managed to convey to them the feeling of family warmth.

Alexander Bastrykin addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. He noted that the contribution of the multinational Soviet people to the victory in the Great Patriotic War will never be forgotten. He recalled the immortal feat of the Panfilov Division, the heroic deeds of Kyrgyz soldiers in combat operations of the Soviet troops on all fronts, the courage of the Red Army soldier Cholponbai Tuleberdiev, who covered the embrasure of a German bunker with his body, ensuring the capture of a strategic beachhead. Alexander Bastrykin stressed that the firmness, unity, solidarity and international brotherhood of our people helped to defeat and destroy the plans of Nazi Germany.

"It is our duty to preserve the true memory of the Great Patriotic War and not to allow the pages of the feat of the Soviet people to be trampled and blackened. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation is doing everything possible to prevent the distortion of historical truth!", the Chairman said.

Alexander Bastrykin noted that during the blockade of Leningrad over 16,000 people were evacuated to Kyrgyzstan. The feat of the young Toktogon Altybasarova, endowed with a huge heart, a deep sense of compassion and a zeal to help defenseless children in incredibly difficult circumstances deserves sincere recognition and respect. Today's event is yet another occasion to pay tribute to the great feat of the Soviet people, Toktogon Altybasarova, and all Kyrgyz mothers, women and men who saved the lives of children.

Kurmankul Zulushev noted that more than 360,000 Kyrgyz citizens fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War and each family experienced the bitterness of loss. He emphasized the enormous contribution of home front workers to the Victory and the special role of Toktogon Altybasarova, who gave the children a home and most importantly, life thanks to her high human qualities.

Marat Abdiev, founder and coordinator of the Public Foundation named after her, and Murat Abdiev, a member of the foundation, Toktogon Altybasarova's sons, shared their memories of their mother. They thanked the participants of the event for the unique meeting and the opportunity to keep the memory of the great feat in the hearts of people.

Valentina Ashegulova, Toktogon Altybasarova's pupil who was evacuated as a child from the besieged Leningrad, her granddaughter Roza Usenova, niece Gulnara Bekbasarova, member of Toktogon Altybasarova Public Foundation Nurlan Dosaliev, and Ular Bolotkanova, Toktogon's granddaughter and director of the Public Foundation, shared their memories.

Sergei Petrov, Head of Educational Outreach Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Hero of Russia spoke about the department's patriotic and educational work with the younger generation. He noted that decades after the terrible war, the deeds of our ancestors should not be forgotten. "We will solve problems in the field of education, spiritual and moral development of young people, including on the basis of examples of such remarkable people as Toktogon Altybasarova, keeping their memory, telling about them to new generations of citizens of Russia and Kyrgyzstan", Sergei Petrov stressed.

The event included a demonstration of a video prepared by the Media Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, a short film "Mama Tonya" and an excerpt from the I Want to Live! movie about the legendary Toktogon Altybasarova, featuring herself. Cadets and students of educational organizations of Investigative Committee of Russia told about great deeds of their relatives during the Great Patriotic War.

At the end of the event Kurmankul Zulushev expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the initiative, which allowed everyone to gather and honor the memory of the legendary woman. "We must do everything in our power to ensure that the horrors of the Great Patriotic War are not repeated, so that the younger generation will know and honor the feats of their grandfathers and grandmothers."

Alexander Bastrykin, in turn, thanked the attendees for their sincere warmth. He said that the issue of perpetuating the memory of Toktogon Altybasarova on Leningrad land is currently being studied. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation volunteered to join the Toktogon Altybasarov public organization work, laying the foundation for the international education of the younger generation, and shared the positive experience of cooperation with other states. Alexander Bastrykin invited colleagues from the Kyrgyz Republic to take part in the work of the staff to coordinate the search and archival work of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The Chairman stressed that this interaction will allow to expand the geography of the search.

"I am convinced that as long as we remember and talk about the exploits of the multinational Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War, the desire for peace, unity and creation will not die out in our hearts and the hearts of our descendants," Alexander Bastrykin said.
