Investigation into a member of Sergey Neverov's criminal gang finished

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation finished investigation of a probe into Vyacheslav Kurganov. He is accused of committing an offense under Part 3 of Article 30, Paragraphs G, H of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (attempted murder, committed by an organized group, involving banditry).

Investigation established that Kurganov, being a member of Sergey Neverov's criminal gang, together with other persons, committed an attempted murder of a member of the illegal gang Vladimir Safronov. In March 2017 in Togliatti, Vadim Zhestkov in a car driven by Vyacheslav Kurganov approached the location of the alleged victim, where Zhestkov shot him point-blank. However, the victim survived due to being timely hospitalized and provided with medical treatment. After committing the offense Kurganov fled to Georgia, where he was detained and extradited to Russia in March 2019.

The investigation gathered enough evidence; therefore, the criminal case with the indictment approved by the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia has been sent to the court to be tried on the merits.

Previously, Zhestkov was sentenced as guilty of committing an attempted murder of Safronov.
