Alexander Bastrykin requests a report on progress of investigation of a probe in Moscow and an assessment in Leningrad Region

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin requested directions of regional investigative departments to report on progress of investigation of a probe into death of a minor in Moskva-River and on pre-investigative assessment into road accident involving a tour bus in Leningrad Region.

Today a report on death of a 6-year-old boy during sailing on a small size craft in Moskva River became wide spread in mass media sources. As a result of rocking of the boat, the child fell overboard and was injured by the ship's propeller. Despite the performed resuscitation measures, it was not possible to save him. The Moscow Interregional Transport Investigations Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe into violation of rules for safety and operation of water transport entailing by negligence death of a person (Part 2 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

Apart from that, increased media attention was focused on the resonant accident with an excursion bus in the Podporozhsky district, as a result of which 11 people were injured. The Leningrad Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a procedural probe into rendering of unsafe services.

Alexander Bastrykin requested detailed information on all the said incidents and put progress of their investigation under supervision of the Central Office of the Committee.
