Alexander Bastrykin puts the progress of investigation of a probe into a accident with a bus in Krasnodar Region under supervision

The Krasnodar Territorial Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia into collision of two buses carrying vacationers from children's camp in Olginka settlement that resulted in ignition of one of them.

According to investigation, in the morning of June 21, 2021 two buses collided on Dzhubga-Sochi highway near Novomikhailovskoe settlement. The buses were carrying children as part of a convoy with escort. As a result, the bus, carrying 38 children and 2 accompanying persons, pulled over to the side of the road and caught fire. All passengers were evacuated from the vehicle. According to operational information, 7 children were injured and delivered to a hospital with injuries of varying severity for diagnosis and treatment. According to available information, their lives are out of danger. 

At present an investigator of the territorial investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is working at the scene. All required investigative actions aimed to establish circumstances of the accident and compliance with safety rules during transportation of children are carried out in terms of the probe.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requested a report on investigative actions that had been carried out. The progress of investigation is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
