In Krasnoyarsk Territory, two men found guilty of murder

The evidence collected by the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia was found by court to be sufficient to sentence two Krasnoyarsk residents, Andrey Shilov and Sergey Shmelev. Depending on the role of each, they were found guilty of committing offenses under Part 4 of Article 111 (intentional infliction of severe health damage entailing by negligence death of a victim) and Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of Russia (theft).

For a long time, none of the accomplices have been prosecuted. After the personal reception of the mother of the victim by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia the probe was referred to the Main Investigative Department.

The investigation and the court established that in September 2019 the accomplices, while being in Krasnoyarsk under influence of drugs, inflicted multiple blows on head and body to their accomplice in his apartment on the basis of personal hostility. At the same time, they videotaped what was happening, and then published the record on the Internet. Despite the medical assistance provided, the victim died in the hospital from the inflicted injuries.

At a request of the investigation, the accused were subjected to preventive detention by court.

The court sentenced Shmelev and Shilov to 14,5 years of imprisonment in a strict penal colony each with the recovery of 5,453,791 rubles from the convicts in solidarity under a civil claim.
