The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia are investigating probes into participants of extremist communities

The investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation together with officers of units of the Federal Security Service of Russia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia detained participants of extremist communities in a number of regions.

The Bryansk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating a probe launched into creation of an extremist community (Part 1 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code of Russia). A 17-year-old person born in Perm Territoty and currently residing in Bryansk Region was detained on suspicion of committing of the offense. He was charged and taken to custody.

According to the investigative data, not later than September 2020 the accused, while in Perm Region, created and headed an extremist community, having developed an organizational structure and future expansion plan for the community and distributed roles among the participants. The 17-year-old used social networks to search and recruit new members to the extremist community in order to commit various offenses against ethnic groups. In one of the social networks, he created communities named "National Revival Path of Russian Patriotism" ("NVSRP") and "Right Observer (Nationalism) Bryansk" and others similar. While in the Bryansk region, the 17-year-old coordinated the work of the extremist community he created, including in the Perm Territory. He involved in the illegal activities two other minors in the city of Perm, who posted extremist materials on the Internet, and also organized the posting of leaflets containing calls to incite hostility and hatred. The Perm Territorial Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is also investigating a probe into local residents born in 2004 and 2002.

Apart from that, the Investigative Departments of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Khabarovsk Region and Jewish Autonomous Region placed four participants of an extremist community in custody upon an investigative motion. Materials into one of the participants that hasn't reached the age of criminal liability will be referred to prevention authorities for registration. 

According to the investigation, on March 2022 an 18-year-old resident of Komsomolsk-on-Amur of Khabarovsk Region created and headed an extremist organization "Youth Organization Rus (M.O.R.)" in order to prepare and commit extremist offenses in Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The organized group included at least four other participants including 3 minors. From March to June 2021 the young men conducted strength training to prepare physically and mentally for committing violent offenses. Apart from that, in spring 2021 they beat and insulted on ethnic motives at least 3 persons, pursuing goals of the extremist activities of the community. The community members recorded their violent actions on a video camera, and the videos were posted in the public domain on the Internet, in order to popularize the activities of the extremist community and attract new participants.

The investigation of the probes and detection of other participants and followers of the said extremist communities continues.
