The Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia requested a report on investigation of a probe into provision of substandard housing to orphans in Krasnoyarsk Territory

Today a federal channel once again broadcast a programme devoted to provision of substandard and unfit housing to orphans from Krasnoyarsk Territory. Earlier the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia investigated a probe into the facts reported by the mass media.

Basing on the evidence collected for the probes the head of the Bolshemurtinsky Districted was charged with negligence (Part 1 of Article 293). However, subsequently, due to the expiration of the statute of limitations for the criminal prosecution and on the basis of the statement of the accused, the criminal case was terminated on non-rehabilitating grounds.

In order to take measures aimed at restoring the rights of victims, the investigation sent information to the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory with a request to consider the issue of providing the injured orphans with suitable housing. The Prosecutor's Office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was motioned with the issue of restoring the rights of the victims.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed the direction of the Investigative Department for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia to provide a detailed report on the results of the investigation of the criminal case and the procedural decisions taken on it, as well as on the measures taken to restore the violated rights of orphans and their results.
