The West-Siberian Transport Investigations Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia continues investigation of a probe under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violation of rules for traffic safety and use of air transport).

To remind, on June 16, 2021 an An-28 aircraft was following the route Kedrovyi-Tomsk. About 10 minutes into the flight, both of the plane's engines stopped. Repeated starts of the engines did not restore their performance. After that, the aircraft commander picked a place for the emergency landing of the aircraft from an altitude. With the engines not working, the plane glided onto a site located 70 km from the town of Kedrovyi, Tomsk Oblast. The plane made a hard landing at a distance of 180 meters from the first touchdown point, and flipped over when stopped. The aircraft crew took immediate steps to evacuate the passengers from the aircraft cabin. After that, they launched the emergency beacon. A rescue team arrived at the scene and evacuated the passengers and crew.

There were 3 crew members and 15 passengers on board, including 4 minors. The commander of the aircraft with fractures of the lower extremities and a 17-year-old female passenger with a suspected concussion were hospitalized in a Tomsk hospital. After being examined by doctors, the remaining passengers with abrasions and bruises were released for outpatient treatment at their place of residence.

The investigation team arrived at the scene to inspect the scene, the aircraft, which according to preliminary data can not be recovered, seize samples of fuel, fluids life support systems of the aircraft, seize flight documents and emergency beacon, question some passengers, aircraft technician; the investigation is ongoing.
