On 16 July this year, a traffic accident occurred in the west of Moscow, killing two children and injuring one child.

In connection with a widespread public response and in order to thoroughly establish all the circumstances of the incident, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Main Investigative Directorate to request the supervisory authorities to refer the probe on the road traffic accident which resulted in the death of young children from the police to the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
