The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia has instructed the heads of several regional investigation departments to report on the progress of criminal investigations and pre-investigation into accidents involving children.

For example, the Buryatia Republican Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe in the death of a teenager who was refused hospital admission (Part 2 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Russia). Criminal probes against a woman suspected of cruel abuse of foster children and deliberate harm to their health are also being investigated in Buryatia (Paragraph D of Part 2 of Article 117, and Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

In the Sverdlovsk Region, the Investigative Committee is conducting an enquiry into a complaint filed by the parents of a three-year-old child who accuse doctors at a polyclinic of refusing to save him from Quincke's edema, which almost killed the boy, while in the Trans-Baikal Territory the investigative authorities have begun checking reports of a COVID outbreak at the Narasun camp.

Alexander Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, has placed the initiated criminal probes and the progress of the procedural checks under supervision of the Central Office of the Committee and instructed the heads of the regional investigative bodies to report on all the above-mentioned facts.
