The investigation into the beating of a young child launched upon request of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia

Vyborg City Investigative Department of Leningrad Regional Investigative Committee of Russian Federation on the instructions of Alexander Bastrykin initiated criminal probe on charges of crime under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Russia (Intentional infliction of minor injury to health) on the fact of beating of a 7-year-old boy in Vyborgsky area of Leningrad region.

According to investigators, a woman pushed a 7-year-old boy during a conflict that began over a defective inflatable pool at a cottage village in the Vyborg district of the Leningrad Region on 18 July this year, causing him to fall and suffer bodily injuries.

The child is currently being treated at a medical facility. Investigation team consisting of the head and the investigator of the Vyborg City Investigative Department with the participation of the forensic specialist of the Investigative Department arrived at the scene. An inspection of the scene and other investigative actions were carried out.

Witnesses and eyewitnesses to the incident continue to be identified and questioned in order to establish the circumstances relevant to the criminal case. Investigative actions are under way to establish all the circumstances, as well as the causes and conditions that contributed to the crime. The head of the Investigative Department has taken control of the criminal case.
