In Zabaikalsky Territory, a local citizen found guilty of murder of a minor

The evidence collected by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia over Zabaikalsky Territory was found by court to be sufficient to sentence a 33-year-old Chita resident. He was found guilty of murder of a minor (Paragraph С of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia) and intentional damaging of someone else's property, committed by a generally dangerous method (Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

As established by investigation and the court, about 5:30 PM on February 2021 in a residential building located in Zheledorozhny district of Chita, during a conflict situation the convict, while intoxicated with alcohol, fired a 12-gauge shotgun into his neighbor's closed front door. As a result of the head and chest wound received a 9-year-old girl present in the apartment died at the scene.

The particular gravity of the crime and its daring, cynical nature caused a wide resonance. The man was immediately detained and placed into custody upon investigative motion. The investigation carefully examined all circumstances of the situation. A set of necessary expert investigations, interrogations, and other investigative and procedural actions were conducted, as a result of which irrefutable evidence of the defendant's guilt was gathered.

The totality of the arguments presented by the investigation formed the basis of the guilty verdict. The man was sentenced to 17 years of imprisonment in a strict regime penal colony.
