A solemn meeting was held in the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation under the chairmanship of Alexander Bastrykin on the occasion of the professional holiday - the Day of an Investigative Officer of the Russian Federation, which is celebrated annually on 25 July. The event, held via video-conferencing, was attended by First Deputy and Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee, managers and staff of departments of the central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the territorial investigative agencies, educational institutions of the Committee, members of the Public Council under the Investigative Committee of Russia and veterans of the investigation.
Opening the meeting, Alexander Bastrykin congratulated all those present with the past professional holiday, noting the success of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for 10 years. He recalled the impressive results of the investigators' work in the investigation of crimes of corruption, economic orientation, of terrorist and extremist nature, committed against minors, against the person and other categories.
He emphasized the importance and significance of the search, archive and patriotic work conducted by the Investigative Committee: "Preservation of memory about the great exploit of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War, who showed heroism in confronting the Nazi invaders - one of the pillars on which the modern Russian state is based".
Special words of gratitude sounded for the veterans of the investigation, who even today, despite their age, share their knowledge and experience with the young investigators. Alexander Bastrykin noted a great and important contribution of the National Association of Veterans of Investigative Agencies "Union of Veterans of the Investigation" to the development of youth, patriotic and spiritual-moral education of the younger generation.
The attendees also recalled the officers of the Investigative Committee who died in line of their service duty - 13 comrades who remained faithful to their oath to the end. The head of the department ordered to add information about untimely departed officers of the Investigative Committee of Russia, who made a great contribution to the development and maintenance of the preliminary investigation - the head of the international cooperation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia Mikhail Yadrov and Deputy Head of the logistics and social security of the Investigative Committee of Russia - the head of medical and social security Nikolai Grishchenko, to the Book of Memory of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. "The memory of our fallen comrades is sacred in our hearts, in the names of streets, schools, in the cases that continue the current generation of investigators. They will always remain for us an example of dedication to the profession, valor and honor," stressed Alexander Bastrykin, calling on the participants of the meeting to honor their memory with a moment of silence.
During the solemn meeting were noted successes in the work of a number of employees of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The President of the Russian Federation awarded state awards to a number of investigators and forensic specialists for services in strengthening the rule of law, the protection of the rights and interests of citizens, many years of diligent work. Medal "For saving the dying" for courage and determination shown in rescuing people in extreme conditions was awarded to the widow of the deceased Fyodor Artemov. A number of department employees were given keys to service apartments.
The event included video greetings from Vladimir Shamanov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Defense and member of the Heroes Council of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Gora, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus, and Kamran Aliyev, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Warm words and wishes were said by the father of Magomed Aliyev, an employee of the Investigative Committee of Russia, who died in the performance of his official duties, and by the father of Dima Novoselov, who was posthumously awarded the Medal "For the Rescue of the Dying". Alexander Bastrykin once again expressed his deepest condolences to the parents and wished them to maintain their fortitude and self-control. In addition, the attendees were shown video messages from members of the 527th Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, stationed in Dushanbe, Tajikistan; member of the Public Council under the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, honored worker of culture Igor Dzreev, director of the Center for Family Education Support "Skolkovsky" sponsored by the Investigative Committee of Russia, All-Russian Children Center "Orlyonok", VDTS "Smena", participants in educational program "Young Investigator" and children of fallen soldiers from Tajikistan.
At the end of the event, there were musical greetings from Alexander Rosenbaum, Lev Leshchenko, the St. Petersburg State Academic Capella and the Don Cossack Choir.
Addressing the participants of the event, the head of the Department stressed that the results of the Russian Investigative Committee confirmed the effectiveness of the reforms of investigative agencies carried out in 2007-2011, which resulted in the separation of investigative and supervisory functions between departments. Thanking for the service, Alexander Bastrykin reminded that each employee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation must remain unwavering in spirit, faithful to the principles of legality and morality, honor and the chosen path. "The most important thing is our attitude to people, the trust in us by society as a whole and each individual, our team, our work and its results", - concluded the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
