Alexander Bastrykin requests a report on progress in a probe of beating of citizens in Leningrad region

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee has instructed the head officers of the Investigative Department of the Leningrad Region Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to report on the investigative actions in the probe of beating of citizens in the town of Murino, Vsevolozhsky district, Leningrad region, carried out by a group of persons from a foreign country.  

According to the preliminary findings of the investigation, foreign nationals engaged in private haulage, acting deliberately as a group, beat three local residents on a motor road in Vsevolozhsk district of Leningrad region in April 2021, using various objects. One of the victims is disabled. By their actions, they inflicted injuries of varying degrees of severity.

It should be recalled that in accordance with Article 91 of the Criminal Procedural Code of Russian Federation, two suspects were detained and charged under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of Russian Federation (hooliganism with the use of items used as weapons, by a group of persons). Investigative measures are also being taken in the case, including the identification of other persons involved in the crime.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee has ordered to establish all the circumstances and causes contributing to the crime.
