The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requests a report on investigative actions taken in terms of investigation of a probe into kidnapping of a minor girl in Altai Territory

The Altai Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating a probe into kidnapping of a 12-year-old girl (Paragraphs C, D of Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

According to the investigation, on July 31 in one of the villages of Biysk district a 40-year-old local resident abducted a girl who was riding a bicycle on a country road, after tying her hands and feet and putting a bag on her. He then moved her to the basement of the house he was occupying.

Due to the fact that the man fled from the authorities of investigation, he was put on the federal wanted list, and charged in absentia; the investigator will soon motion the court to place him into custody. The injured girl is being provided with psychological assistance.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed the head of the regional investigative department to personally lead the search for the attacker, coordinating the activities of all law enforcement agencies in the region and taking all possible measures to determine his whereabouts. Alexander Bastrykin also demanded to report on the investigative actions conducted to date, and put the progress of the criminal investigation under supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee.
