A 45-year-old man was detained in terms of a probe into insult and use of violence against an authority representative investigated by the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia. In the nearest future he will be charged under Articles 318 and 319 of the Criminal Code of Russia.

According to investigation, om June 23, 2021 a police officer in the line of duty arrived to a house on Kurchatova Street in Voronezh, where an intoxicated by alcohol man was in a car cabin. The local citizens pointed at him as at a person who committed a road accident. The said citizen used insults and violence against the representative of authority in response to actions of the police officer aimed to suppress violation of law. The situation recorded by video surveillance cameras and can be confirmed by testimonies of witnesses.

The Investigative Committee of Russia in intended to motion the court for the man's arrest. The investigation has information that the man was previously brought to administrative responsibility for driving under the influence of alcohol and was deprived of the driving license, as well as to criminal responsibility under Part 1 Article 111 of the Criminal Code. That's the reason for motioning the court to elect this preventive measure.   

Investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia continue to establish all circumstances of the incident.
