Taxi drivers involved in an attack against residents of Vsevolozhsk of Leningrad Region detained

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating a probe into a hooligan attack on residents of Vsevolozhsk, Leningrad Oblast, during which they suffered various bodily injuries.

According to investigators, on April 8, 2021 on the road near the house number 5 on the street South in the village of Bugry in Vsevolozhsk district a group of taxi drivers from neighboring countries, numbering at least 6 people stopped the car in which the victims were traveling. Using an insignificant motive, that is, out of hooliganism, the attackers subjected the above mentioned persons to beating with wooden sticks.

At present three participants of the attacked have been identified and detained. They were charged under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of Russia (hooliganism, committed by a group of persons with use of items used as weapons).

One of the accused has been arrested. Motions to put the other two into custody have been also prepared and sent to the court.

Investigative actions aimed at identification of other participants of the committed offense continue.
