The evidence collected by the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia was found by court to be sufficient to sentence Rodion Solovyov and his underage accomplice. Solovyev was found guilty of committing offenses under Paragraph B of Part 4 of Article 132, Paragraph B of Part 4 of Article 131, Paragraphs C, J of Part 2 of Article 105, Part 4 of Article 150 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violent sexual actions, rape, murder, involvement of a minor in a crime), his minor accomplice is charged under Paragraph B of Part 4 of Article 132, Part 5 of Article 33, Paragraph B of Part 4 of Article 131, Part 5 of Article 33, Paragraphs C, J of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violent sexual actions, assistance in rape and murder).
Investigation and the court established that on May 29, 2020, in the evening, Solovyev, being in a forest near the village of Nizhnyaya Koya of Shushensky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, attacked a young girl and, by strangulation, brought her to an unconscious state. Then Solovyev, together with a minor resident of the specified village, using the helpless state of the victim, committed her rape and murder.
Upon decision of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin the probe was transferred to investigators of the Central Office and was supervised by him.
During investigation over 40 persons were questioned, about 10 inspections of the scene and a big number of examinations were carried out along with other investigative actions that confirmed the version of the investigation. Both perpetrators fully admitted their guilt and repented of their deeds.
The court sentenced Solovyov to 23 years and 20 days of imprisonment in a strict regime penal colony with freedom restrictions for 1 year and 8 months, his underage accomplice was sentenced to 9 years and 11 months of imprisonment in a juvenile detention center.
The court also satisfied the claims of the victims in the amount of 2.5 million rubles against Solovyev and 2 million rubles against his accomplice.
