A probe launched into accident in Voronezh

Upon instruction of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin experienced forensic specialists of the Main Forensics Department (Forensic Center of the Investigative Committee of Russia) were sent to Voronezh to provide practical assistance in inspection of the incident site and full and comprehensive establishment of all circumstances of the incident in Voronezh.

Upon initial inspection of the incident site the Voronezh Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe under Paragraph C of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia into improper provision of services of passenger carriage entailing by negligence infliction of severe health damage or death of a person.

It was preliminary established that the clap occurred on a transport stop in Voronezh near a shopping center on Koltsovskaya street, as a result of which passengers suffered injuries of varying severity and the bus received serious mechanical damage. According to preliminary data, 14 persons were injured and hospitalized in medical institutions, one of the victims subsequently died. Exact number of victims is being specified. At present the inspection of the incident scene continues, witnesses are questioned, a set of required examinations is to be appointed, a set of other investigative and procedural actions aimed to establish all circumstances of the incident will be performed. 

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia put the progress of investigation under supervision of the Central Office of the Committee.
