Investigation into former head of Amur Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs finished


The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia finished investigation of a probe into former head of Amur Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Nikolay Aksenov and former home front commander of the same department Mikhail Robkanov accused of abuse of authority (Parts 1,3 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

According to investigation, in 2013-2015, during the performance of the state contract for the reconstruction of the building of the district police department, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Amur Region Aksenov and the head of logistics Robkanov signed documents of acceptance and payment for actually uncompleted work worth more than 39 million rubles in the absence of properly executed design and estimate documentation. Their illegal actions entailed infliction of significant damage and failure to fulfill state defence order.

In addition, the accused persons, in the absence of any legal basis and at the expense of the federal budget, arranged purchase of a six-room service apartment, which was illegally provided for living of Robkanov and members of his family.

The investigators collected enough evidence for the criminal case to be transferred for approval of an indictment and subsequent referral to court.
