The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requests reports on progress of investigation of probes into offenses committed against children

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requested reports on progress of investigation of probes into offenses committed against children from heads of regional investigative departments. Alexander Bastrykin's attention was focused on murders of children in the Leningrad and Voronezh regions and Bashkortostan.

Thus, the Leningrad Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating a probe into discovery of bodies of a woman and child in a forest under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder). The investigation is establishing all the circumstances and causes of the tragedy that happened, among all, with a minor child.

The Voronezh Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is investigating probes into murder of a newborn and negligence of authorities under Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 105 and Part 1 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia. The underage mother of the child and her cohabitant were detained on suspicion of committing of the murder,

Apart from that, the Bashkortostan Republican Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia has launched a probe against a local citizen suspected of a murder of a newborn (Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia). The suspect has been detained, the issue of her placement into custody is being decided upon.

 

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to timely establish all circumstances of the offenses and causes and conditions that facilitated their commission. Upon instruction of the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin the progress of all the listed offenses will be supervised by the Central Office of the Committee.
