The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Aexander Ivanovich Bastrykin requested reports on a number of incidents with children in regions.

Alexander Bastrykin requested a report on the progress of the investigation into the poisoning of children in the Samara Region. On August 19, 2021 seven children aged from 7 to 14 years old were hospitalized in a medical facility in the city of Tolyatti with complaints about deterioration of their health after visiting a swimming pool at the birthday party of one of the victims. According to preliminary data, the cause was inhalation poisoning with an unknown substance. The Samara Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia is carrying out a preliminary investigation into this matter. The progress of the assessment is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Apart from that, Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin requested a report on an incident in an apartment in Moscow. The Moscow Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe under Article 109 (infliction of death by negligence) and Article 222 of the Criminal Code of Russia (illegal turnover of weapons). According to investigators, in the evening of August 21, 2021 in an apartment building on Malaya Naberezhnaya Street in Moscow, a technical device went off, as a result a teenager born in 2007 and a man born in 1977 were killed and a young boy was hospitalized in a medical facility where he is receiving the necessary care. The progress of investigation is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Also, Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of Investigative Committee of Russia requested a report on the progress of the criminal investigation into the case of injury of a child caused by the collapse of part of the wall of a house in Izhevsk, Udmurt Republic (Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia - performing of works or provision of services not meeting the safety requirements for life or health of consumers). According to investigators, on August 22, 2021 about 6 PM a part of a brick wall of the technical (eighteenth) floor of a residential building in Izhevsk collapsed. As a result, a four-year-old child who was near the house at the time was injured. The boy was provided with medical care. The progress of investigation is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
