The media reported that service staff of a specialized nursing home for the elderly in Reutov abused their wards. The unlawful actions of the nurses were captured on video and posted on the Internet. The Moscow Regional Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia organized an assessment into this matter. At the moment, investigation is establishing all circumstances of the incident. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requested a report on the progress of the assessment and put it under supervision of the Central Office.
Apart from that, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin requested a report on inaction of authorities that entailed presence of socially unprotected citizens in condition dangerous for life and health in Smolensk Region. The mass media reported that disabled elderly woman and her son live in an apartment in Leninsky District. These citizens are locked in the apartment without means of subsistence and food. The preliminary investigation will establish all circumstances of the incident and give legal assessment to actions of authorities. The progress of the assessment is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
