The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin requested a report on progress of investigation of cases of disappearance of children in Tyumen Region of different times. The probe under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia is being processed by the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
The head of the department focused on the data on the circumstances of missing children in the Tyumen Oblast, which were reported in the media. We are talking about 9 facts of unknown disappearance of minors in conditions of non-obviousness since 1997. Bodies of some of them with signs of violent death were found earlier. The latest of these cases was the disappearance of 8 year old Nastya Muravyova this summer, whose body was found on August 19 on the shore of Lake Obrochny in Tyumen. Circumstances surrounding Muravyeva's death are being investigated in a separate criminal case that was filed earlier under Paragraph C of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder of a minor).
The head of the Committee required the investigators to provide a thorough analysis of the available information on all these episodes of crime in the report.
