Alexander Bastrykin requests reports on incidents with children in a number of regions

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed to report on the progress of the investigative check on information from the media that a woman was unconscious in a house in Vladivostok, presumably after consuming banned substances, and could pose a threat to children. The Primorsky Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a preliminary assessment into this matter under Article 156 of the Criminal Code of Russia (non-performance or improper performance of responsibilities for the upbringing of a minor by a parent). The progress of the assessment is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

In addition, Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin demanded a report on the beating of a minor in the Perm Territory. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia also instructed to report on the investigative actions carried out in the criminal case on the illegal imprisonment of a child in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the investigation, the father, without the consent of his ex-wife, took his daughter away from the Nizhny Novgorod region in an unknown direction and is now hiding in Ukraine. The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia issued a resolution to bring the man into custody as an accused of committing a crime under Paragraph E of Part 2 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Russia. He is on the international wanted list. The progress of investigation is under supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

In addition, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requested a report on the progress of the investigation of the criminal case into the injury of a young child in the Irkutsk region. On August 24, in the city of Irkutsk, a metal structure in the form of a ball fell on a 4-year-old girl, as a result of which she suffered bodily injuries in the form of a traumatic brain injury. The Irkutsk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe into this matter under Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia (negligence entailing infliction of severe health damage). Investigators found that this metal structure was installed in 2016 and was not properly secured. At present the necessary investigative actions are being carried out, the responsible persons are being identified.

In addition, the head of the department instructed investigators in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, as part of a criminal investigation, to study all versions of the death of a 14-year-old schoolgirl, living conditions and other information relevant to the investigation of the criminal case and to report on the initial investigative steps taken. At present, the investigators have assigned the necessary examinations, examined the scene of the incident, seized the video from the surveillance cameras, examined the household in which the minor lived. The progress of investigation of the probe is to be supervised by the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
