The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia finished investigation of a probe into murder of a resident of Kemerovo Region, launched in 2016 due to his disappearance. The charges were pressed against two citizens, Sergey Dunin and Dmitry Nosov. Dunin is accused of committing offenses under Part 1 of Article 105 and Part 1 of Article 166 of the Criminal Code of Russia (murder; illegal acquisition of a car); Nosov - under Part 1 of Article 105, Part 1 of Article 166, Part 1 of Article 222, Paragraph C of Part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of Russia (complicity in the murder; misappropriation of a car; illegal possession of firearms; theft).

Back in 2016, the victim left the city of Prokopyevsk for the city of Novokuznetsk. A few days later, in one of the unguarded parking lots, a car belonging to him with removed registration plates was found, and the whereabouts of the man himself were not established. In that relation the Kemerovo Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia launched a probe. Its materials were transferred from the regional division to the investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia by decision of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin after a personal reception by the victim's sister.

Investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia carried out a considerable amount of investigative work to develop versions and study the traces of the crime, which led to the identification of persons involved in its commission. The materials of the criminal case were studied, the victim's daily routine for the last days before his disappearance and his social circle were established in detail, and a systematic analysis of the available evidence was conducted. Also on the case a number of complex examinations: forensic, information-analytical, portrait-technical, video-technical, genetic have been carried out.

Investigators found that in December 2016 Dunin was in Nosov's apartment in the city of Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo Region. In the course of the conflict with the victim, who was also there, Dunin fired several shots at him with a firearm. Then the accomplices concealed the remains of the man's body in the territory of a coal mine in the Novokuznetsk district of Kemerovo region. In addition, Dunin and Nosov stole the victim's car and stole his property.

The investigators collected enough evidence for the criminal case to be transferred for approval of an indictment and subsequent referral to court.
