The Leningrad Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia continues investigation of a probe launched in July 2021 into the fact of intentional infliction of health damage to a 7-year-old boy in Vyborg District of Leningrad Region.
As previously reported, on July 18, 2021 on the territory of the cottage village in the Vyborg district of Leningrad region a woman pushed a child in a conflict over a damaged inflatable pool, as a result of which the child was injured. At present the criminal case continues investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident. A forensic examination has been appointed. The progress of the investigation is under control of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, has requested a report on the investigative actions undertaken.
Unfortunately, violence against children has become a very common means of resolving conflicts which could well be resolved in a civilized way. It is worth noting that during the investigation of a number of crimes against children, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia found that in many cases children became the object of aggression by parents, loved ones or simply adults on the grounds of jealousy, other domestic conflicts and often were "bargaining chips" in the clarification of relations or divorce proceedings.
A characteristic feature of today's violence is that it is increasingly being used by those with a formally high level of culture of behavior.
In the first six months of 2021 alone, investigative agencies of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated 126 criminal cases of intentional infliction of grievous harm to the health of minors and 310 criminal cases of torture.
The position of the leadership of the Investigative Committee is uncompromising in this regard - not a single fact of violation of children's rights should go unnoticed.
