The Moscow Regional Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia detained a 36-year-old director general of a boarding home for the elderly on suspicion of rendering of services that do not meet safety requirements (Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

According to the investigation, the man, as the director of a specialized home for the elderly in the city of Reutov, failed to provide adequate living conditions and care for the residents of the institution. A set of investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the crime and consolidation of the evidence is carried out in the criminal case. To date, investigators have carried out interrogation of the suspect, employees of the boarding house and residents of the institution, examined the documentation governing the activities of the boarding house for the care of the elderly. The investigation will decide upon a preventive measure for the suspects in the nearest future.

As reported earlier, on petition of investigator of Balashikha Investigative Department, the Moscow Regional Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia the court arrested 54 year old female employee of a nursing home for elderly people suspected of battery to several lodgers of the institution (Article 116 of the Criminal Code of Russia - 2 episodes). According to investigators, the suspect, as a nurse in a specialized home for the care of the elderly, allowed the abuse of wards in this institution. The woman's illegal actions were captured on video, which was later published in the media. During the interrogation, the woman pleaded guilty and confessed to what she had done. 

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin instructed to report on the circumstances of the cruel treatment of the elderly in the boarding house.
