Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia ordered to report on the work done over the criminal case of beating a teenager in the Moscow Region

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Moscow Regional Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia A. Starikov to report on the work done in the criminal case of beating a teenager in the Moscow Region.

On the previous day the media outlets published information on illegal actions committed against the boy; the reason for that information was an inscription on his T-shirt that read "I am Russian".

After the information was published, the investigative authorities of the Moscow Regional Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated criminal proceedings on the grounds of the crime provided for by Paragraph A of Part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of Russia (actions aimed at inciting hatred or enmity based on gender, race, and nationality, with the use of violence). A. Starikov is to submit a report on the progress of the investigation. In addition, due to the fact that these actions were committed as early as July 29, 2019, the head of the State Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Moscow region must also report on the earlier procedural decisions on the materials of the inspection.
