The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Yaroslavl Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia A.M. Sobolev to report on the work done in the procedural investigation into the fire in a hospital in Yaroslavl.

Preliminary investigation established that the probable cause of the fire was a short circuit in one of the wards with a working boiler which at the time of operation sparked and fell on the mattress of one of the patients. The body of one person was found at the scene, the most likely cause of death was an illness. A more precise cause of death will be determined by forensic examination.

Alexander Bastrykin instructed his subordinates to promptly report on the circumstances of the incident. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia put the progress and the results of the assessment under personal supervision.
