Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructs heads of several regional investigative departments to report on incidents involving minors

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation requested a report from the Head of the Smolensk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee, A. Yu. Ukhanov on the initial results of the probe into the negligence of officials at the Safonovsky Children's Home and School, which resulted in the death of a 12-year-old pupil at the institution (Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Russia).

He also drew attention to a report of an accident in the Vladimir region, where five teenagers were injured, one of them in serious condition. A.A. Kulakov, Head of the Vladimir Regional Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia, was instructed to establish all the circumstances of the incident as part of the probe under investigation (Article 264 of the Criminal Code) and the causes and conditions that contributed to the accident and report back.

In addition, the Chairman demanded that the head of the Yamalo-Nenets Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia, A.N. Yegorov, immediately organise a procedural check on a media report about temperature violations in a kindergarten in Novy Urengoy.

In order to verify the completeness of the earlier investigation into the criminal case concerning the posting of photographic material on the Internet involving a minor from Krasnoyarsk, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Acting Head of the Main Investigative Department for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia, A.L. Eremin, to report on the investigations and examinations conducted on the probe, and also to check the actions or inactions of the officials of the regulatory authorities.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee demanded that the head of the Head of the Main Investigative Department for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol V.N. Terentyev initiate a probe under Article 214 and Article 243 of the Russian Criminal Code for the actions of a group of teenagers in connection with the desecration of a memorial complex in Sevastopol. The three underage participants in the incident have now been identified and will soon be taken to the investigating unit to establish all the circumstances.

The head of the Committee put the process and results of investigation of the probes under supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
