A new Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia was festively opened in Sevastopol

On Knowledge Day, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin in a solemn setting opened a new departmental educational institution - the Sevastopol Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia named after V.I. Istomin. Along with members of the Investigative Committee the ceremony was attended by Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Vladimirovich Razvojaev, Commander of the Russian Navy Black Sea Fleet Igor Vladimirovich Osipov, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol Vladimir Vladimirovich Nemtsev, member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Federal Assembly from Sevastopol Catherine Borisovna Altabaeva, director of the Museum-Reserve of the Heroic Defense and Liberation of Sevastopol Alexander Viktorovich Barkov, director of Children Center "Artek" Konstantin Albertovich Fedorenko and teachers of the Center, heads of law enforcement agencies, teachers and parents of cadets.

The event was held at the symbol of the Hero-City of Sevastopol - Malakhov Mound, which became a symbol of will and courage of defenders of the city from the enemy during the first and second of its defense.

After hearing the report of the Corps director Roman Bykov on the readiness of the personnel, Alexander Bastrykin congratulated all those present on Knowledge Day, noting the significance of the event for the strengthening of the education system of Russia's North Caucasus. "Dear fellow cadets! You live and study in a heroic city where our grandfathers and great grandfathers bravely, without sparing their lives, defended every inch of land. I wish you fortitude and success in your goals, follow the example of the brave liberators of Sevastopol and the entire peninsula, wear the uniform of a cadet of the Investigative Committee with honor, successfully graduate and join the ranks of officers to protect our Motherland!" - The head of the Committee addressed the children. 

The Governor of Sevastopol expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, noting the personal merit of Alexander Ivanovich in the development of cadet education. Also, encouraging the cadets, he expressed confidence that Sevastopol cadets will be worthy of this high title and in the future will prove themselves as real professionals in the service of the Fatherland and the Law.

The idea to give the name of the famous Russian admiral, participant of Navarino and Sinop battles, defense of Sevastopol in 1854-1855 to the Cadet Corps came from the cadets and was supported by both department heads and descendants of Rear-Admiral Vladimir Ivanovich Istomin. That's why one of the honored guests of the festival was Istomin's great-nephew Oleg Igorevich Filimonov. "For our family and for me personally, this event is extremely honorable, important and very touching to the heart", said Oleg Igorevich, "as the name of my heroic ancestor will be a symbol of new life and new victories in the cadets of the Investigative Committee of Russia. I wish you success! I am sure that you will carry the title of a Russian cadet through the years with honor and dignity!" - he stressed.

During the ceremony, the director of the Sevastopol cadet corps was presented with the banner, which was honorably handed over to the cadet fraternity and took its rightful place in the ranks of future defenders of the Motherland. Also the head of the department awarded the commemorative medal "10 Years of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation" to the head of the creative workshop "Symbol", Honorary Member of the Union of Heraldists of Russia Valery Doroshko and Oleg Igorevich Filimonov.

The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia talked to the cadets: the children told the Chairman where they came from and why they decided to tie their fate to the service. Alexander Bastrykin gave them an order - to protect the homeland, citizens, relatives and loved ones, to be attentive and sensitive to the requests of people.

At the end of the celebrations for all guests and staff of the Cadet Corps was performed by the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Red Banner Black Sea Fleet of Russia.

Alexander Bastrykin and the guests laid flowers at the monument to the hero of the Crimean War and the first defense of Sevastopol, Vice-Admiral Vladimir Alexeyevich Kornilov, honoring the memory of the courageous liberators of Sevastopol a minute of silence.

The corps personnel went to the place of training for the "Lesson of Courage," which was held for them by veterans of the fleet. In the new academic year 139 cadets will sit at the desks of the Sevastopol Cadet Corps. Given that the agency pays close attention to the development and education of orphans and children left without parental care, half of the students belong to this category. In addition to the disciplines included in the federal educational standard, the cadets will study the subjects specifically designed for students of educational institutions of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The list of additional education programs and specialized subjects will expand when the Sevastopol cadet corps gets its own building. Then the kids can learn naval science and learn to work with special marine instruments. In addition, the cadets will live on the grounds of the corps around the clock. During his working trip to Sevastopol Alexander Bastrykin visited this object under construction, where he inspected the construction and restoration work. The image of a unique historical building will be preserved for future generations.

The festive events devoted to the Knowledge Day also took place in other Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Thus, cadets, teachers and tutors of the Federal State Educational Institution "Volgograd Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation named after F.F. Slipchenko" celebrated the September 1 following the long-standing tradition. At 9 a.m., to the sound of the Russian National Anthem, the State flag and the flag of the Russian Investigative Committee were hoisted. The ceremonial lineup was opened by the director of the Cadet Corps Alexei Viktorovich Pindych. In the new academic year, 75 children came to study here, 38 of whom were orphans and children left without parental care. All students were welcomed by the head of the regional investigation department Major General of Justice Vasily Ivanovich Semenov. He presented the cadet corps employees and distinguished cadets with diplomas and letters of gratitude. Chairman of the Presidium of Volgograd Council of Veterans of Investigation Senior Advisor of Justice, retired Olga Alexandrovna Pivovarenko expressed the hope and confidence that the young cadets with dignity will take the baton from the veterans of the investigation, and they will be happy to pass their knowledge and experience. At the end of the ceremonial lineup, the cadets released doves into the sky, symbolizing the fulfillment of dreams and the pursuit of high goals.

Celebrations were also held in the Alexander Nevsky Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Moscow. The director of the cadet corps, Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General of Justice Igor Vladimirovich Zaporozhan congratulated the cadets on the Day of Knowledge and wished the students to strive for knowledge and cherish cadet friendship. Deputy Head of the Federal Treasury, Major General Alexander G. Mikhailik also addressed the children with a welcoming speech. Following a tradition, the cadets of the 11th grades gave memorable gifts to the children who entered the cadet corps, accepting them into a friendly cadet family. The seniors demonstrated their posture and skill by marching in celebration. Veterans of investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation took an active part in the holiday. Guests of honor from among the veterans of the investigation held class hours in all training platoons. They told about the basics of the investigative agencies, shared their personal experiences, reminding the guys about the importance of the chosen path and the qualities that are inherent in a true defender of the Fatherland.

The St. Petersburg Cadet Corps of the Investigative Committee of Russia also held a celebratory rally devoted to Knowledge Day. At the beginning of the event, officers, cadets and staff of the Cadet Corps sang the anthem of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation. Lieutenant Colonel Vitaly V. Velichko, acting director of the Cadet Corps, greeted guests, teachers and cadets. Special attention during the festive line-up was paid to the cadets of the 5th-7th grades noting that the Cadet Corps was accepting younger cadets into its ranks for the first time. At the end of the event, lessons of courage were held in all classes.

In the coming days the festive events, including thematic lessons of courage, will continue in the cadet corps and sponsored cadet classes of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
