The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia gives instructions with reference to media reports


A number of media outlets reported that relatives of a woman who died in one of the city hospitals in Mariinsk in 2020 criticized the course of the criminal investigation initiated under Part 2 Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Russia (causing death by negligence due to improper performance of professional duties by a person). The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the acting head of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kemerovo region-Kuzbass A.S. Bezukladnikov to report on the progress of the criminal investigation and also instructed the leadership of the Forensic Center of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation to join in the expert study to establish an objective picture of what happened in the near future.

In addition, a number of media outlets have widely circulated information about a mass fight between Zenit and Spartak fans in the Tver region, which was caught on video. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Tver Republican Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to carry out a pre-investigative probe into possible resistance to police officers in the line of duty and to give objective legal assessment to all circumstances of the incident. The Central Office of the Investigative Committee is to supervise the progress and results of the probe.

The Central Office continues to supervise the progress of investigation of the previously launched probe into drowning of a 35-year-old local resident and disappearance of her 13-year-old son during swimming in a sea in Sakhalin Region (Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of Russia). Today it was reported that during the investigation and search activities the body of the missing boy was found on the beach eight kilometers south of the village of Shebunino.
