The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia puts under supervision the progress of the criminal investigation into the collapse of a house in Noginsk, Moscow Region

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Moscow Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia A. Starikov to report on the conducted initial investigative actions in the criminal case on the fact of providing services that do not meet safety requirements in the city of Noginsk.

On September 8, 2021 in Noginsk, Moscow region, as a result of a domestic gas explosion there was a collapse of the floors from first to third floor of a multi-storey building, as well as partial collapse of the building from fifth to third floor. The bodies of two victims were found during debris removal, 17 people were injured, six people, two of them children, were hospitalized with injuries of varying degrees of severity, while the rest were treated at the scene. Clearance of the debris is ongoing, the number of victims will be specified. Investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Investigative Committee of Russia in the Moscow region initiated criminal proceedings for the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, entailing death of two or more persons (Part 3 Article 238 of the Criminal Code).

The progress of the investigation is under supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
